ODD BALLS Charity Auction for WHO’s Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund

“What do I mean by Odd Ball? Well this is an affectionate term for something that is different or unique.”

What

An online auction of unique watches and artworks to raise money for the World Health Organisation’s Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

When

Mid-June – a one-week online auction hosted on a Givergy platform for Revolution.

How

We are inviting our partners to donate unique watches and artworks to be auctioned and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the World Health Organisation’s Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Our Rationale

In the 1st world countries we’re gradually succeeding in “flattening the curve” to reduce the rapid spread of Covid-19.

But we are just beginning to see the spread, infections, corresponding fatalities and crippling economic impact on continents

and nations that have less than adequate medical and economic infrastructures in Africa, South Asia and Eastern Europe.

One of the things we have always loved best about the culture of watch collecting is that it is intrinsically connected to an international community. In every part of the world from the Americas, to the Middle East, from Europe to Asia and Africa the shared passion for horology transcends nationalities, languages, races and religions.

And now we would like to make a small but more direct effort to help people in need. As such Revolution magazine has decided to host a charity auction to benefit the World Health Organisation’s Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Revolution will be donating two prototypes of our most successful limited edition watches. We will offer the prototype of our TAG Heuer “Blue Dreamer” and our Sinn “Dark Star” chronograph.

We had wanted to keep these for our permanent collection. But now we feel compelled to give them away!

So far the response has been over whelming with brands truly getting on board and donating some truly astonishing and generous watches, experiences and art works.
